Improving Outcomes & Closing Achievement Gaps
My life’s work is focused on combating achievement gaps in schools. Disparities in education amplify and help to perpetuate inequities in our society. From my time as a Kindergarten teacher, to my time as an assistant principal and principal, to my time as a curriculum leader, to my over 12 years as a Superintendent, I have been compelled to build and strengthen systems that work for every child. I bring the wealth of over 26 years of experience to everything I do.
I believe in improving student outcomes using practical, realistic strategies that fall within a school’s sphere of influence. My services are designed to move educators and leaders from simply talking about equity to taking concrete, strategic, and practical steps to make it a reality in schools. I provide workshops, presentations, keynotes, support, and consulting services to educators, school and system leaders, school boards, organizations, and policy makers seeking to improve outcomes and close achievement gaps.
I specialize in “real talk” that helps educators, leaders, and policy makers make meaningful changes to improve outcomes for all children - especially Black children, Hispanic children, children from low-income environments, and other children who are underserved in schools.
My areas of specific expertise include instructional leadership, strategic planning, school/district improvement planning, assessment analysis, reading/literacy, professional development, curriculum design and implementation, educational equity, and closing achievement gaps. I particularly enjoy working with leaders to plan unique workshops, presentations, services, and supports based on the needs of their school, system, or community. If you have a need to improve student outcomes and close achievement gaps in your school or system, feel free to reach out!
